Cetaria Diving Center Scopello, Castellammare Sicily

Cetaria Diving Center, from over 10 years offers excursions with itineraries giving the possibility to enjoy a sea landscape and underwater world through the “Zingaro Natural Reserve” (Sicily - Scopello - TP).
The first Natural protected Area of Sicily, one of the few Oasis with uncontaminated nature for enjoy sea excursions.

The office of Cetaria is based in a 17th century “Baglio“ (from Arab bahal: yard) it is the starting point where the clients can benefit of the services like: dive courses, dive trips, boat excursions, Accommodations, Transfer.
The sea of Scopello with 7 km of coast, including the Zingaro Reserve with is impressive mountains, deep indention and wide valleys.

Cetaria has inserted in his nautical itineraries some points of the coast that are more interesting and suggestive as the: Faraglioni di Scopello, Cala Capreria, Cala Disa, Cala della Tonnarella, the sea with the transparency of the water gives pleasant surprises to the visitors.

For example the “Impisu wall” gives you the opportunity to see spectacular red gorgonian, where the lobster can be protect because it’s a good hiding-place.
“Lion Point” is an overhang where in this blue underwater there are many fish associated with this Area, such as Carangid and Groupers; “The Capua Wreck” an armed ship sunken during the World War II, lies at 39 mt. intact and standing upright on its keel; “The Ficarella submarine cave” the entrance of this cave is at 14 m, entering through the wide passage lead to a tunnel going up into a large cavern, rich in stalactites and others calcareous concretion, above the sea level; and “The Orlo of Cala Berretta” and the “Faraglioni”, these are only a few of the natural underwater itineraries that the visitors on see in Scopello’s sea.

Important is the presence of the "Underwater Museum " Underwater Archaeological itinerary of Faraglioni of Scopello, where there are many archaeological reperts from the period between the second century. BC. and the modern age.
